Questions

Is Matcha free?

Matcha is free to download. To use it you need Matcha Pro: $9.99 a year after a 7-day free trial, or $0.99 a week with no trial. Nothing is free after the trial, and prices vary by country.

Is Matcha on Android?

No. Matcha is iPhone only and needs iOS 26 or later. There's no Android or web version.

Is there an iPad version?

No. Matcha is made for iPhone.

Do I need an account?

No. There's nothing to sign up for. Sharing a list or sending your places uses the iCloud account that's already on your iPhone.

Who can see what I log?

Only you, until you share something. Your dishes, photos and notes are stored on your iPhone. Friends see the dishes you put in a list you share with them, the cards you send and the places you send them.

Does Matcha collect any data?

Matcha sends usage statistics and crash reports, which never include the names of your dishes, places or lists, your photos or your notes. It also tells Meta when the app opens, to measure Matcha's own ads. Profile › Share usage data turns all of it off.

Can I import my Google Maps lists?

Yes. Share a list from Google Maps to Matcha, or paste its link in Profile › Import from Google Maps. Choose the places you want, and they appear on your map as saved places. The list has to be set to Shared in Google Maps.

What languages is Matcha in?

English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Dutch, Japanese and Korean. Matcha follows your iPhone's language.

Is Matcha only for matcha?

No. Matcha is the app's name. You can rank any food or drink you like: pizza, ramen, tacos, croissants, coffee and matcha lattes.

Does Matcha work offline?

Yes. You can add a dish with no signal and choose the place later. Importing from Google Maps, sending places and buying or restoring a subscription need a connection.

Can I share my places with friends?

Yes. You can share an image of your top 5 or your #1, use Send my places to copy your places into a friend's Want to try, or invite friends to a shared list where everyone scores the dishes.

Do my friends need Matcha too?

Not to see a card, because it's an image. To open a Send my places link or join a shared list, they need Matcha on their iPhone, with Matcha Pro or the free trial.

How is Matcha different from Beli?

Beli ranks restaurants and is built around friends: you see where they eat and how your tastes match. As of October 2026 it's free to download, on iPhone and Android. Matcha ranks dishes, so each food gets its own ranking, and what you log stays private until you share it. Matcha is iPhone only and paid.

Does Matcha use AI?

No. You choose the dish and give the score. Place suggestions come from Apple Maps and from where your photo was taken.

Who makes Matcha?

Matcha is made by an independent developer. Messages sent from the support page, or from Profile › Contact support in the app, go straight to them.

Find your matcha.

From matcha to margherita. Score every dish, see your all-time best ranked, and keep a list of places to try.
