What the lists agree on
Two gelaterie are on all eight lists: La Gourmandise in Monteverde Vecchio and Otaleg! in Trastevere. Five places are named by seven or more lists, and 12 of the 27 by at least four.
Gambero Rosso’s gelato guide gave Tre Coni, its top mark, to 77 gelaterie across Italy in its 2027 edition. Five are in Rome, and all five are ranked here: La Gourmandise, Otaleg!, Torcè, Stefano Ferrara Formaessenza and Il Cannolo Siciliano. Fatamorgana and Neve di Latte, joint third, are on every list except Gambero Rosso’s.
RomaToday names the most ranked places, 23 of the 27.
The ranked places are spread over 21 areas of the city, and no area has more than two. Several are outside the centre, like Torcè in EUR, Stefano Ferrara Formaessenza in Marconi and Il Cannolo Siciliano in Pigneto.
The lists pick pistachio at four ranked places, more often than any other flavour.
Gelato in Rome
Two of the ranked names go back more than a century. Gelateria Fassi dates itself to 1880 and Giolitti to 1900. Fassi is named by 5 of the 8 lists, Giolitti by 2.
Several of these gelaterie have more than one shop in Rome, Fatamorgana and Neve di Latte among them. Each is counted once, at the address shown.
